I have an old joke about making the DMV wait on you by continually asking for vanity plates that have no chance of being available. The joke always bombs in the suburbs, but, in Chicago, I’m constantly asked to perform it as a crowd favorite (maybe the license bureaus in small towns are polite and quick, so people don’t feel a need for “payback”). Any way, the joke always made me wonder if random, abstract words are available, as funny plates. The following is a short list of my favorite plates that are actually available in the respective states:
