That was the rub, Mark. The Bears were my second favorite team, next to the Browns, while growing up, but I haven’t watched them since (only the Browns). Hence, I lacked the normal awareness of that 2007 team (that one would expect from some one wearing a Bears shirt). I truly, totally forgot the Bears were in the Super Bowl that one year.

This kind of awkwardness would have never occurred wearing a Browns shirt.

Yes, my initial response was going to be, “Flannery, you great glorious buffoon,” but the fault clearly lies with this woman. What kind of passive/aggressive, self-loathing asshole would wear a “Champions” shirt for a Super-Bowl his team DIDN’T WIN?

Having said that, I’ve seen this woman, and she’s aged horribly since this story happened.
