Shocking
At certain points in this country's history, a man walking down the street with no hat would cause a full riot.

I think I read somewhere that you could be fined for being an adult male and not wearing a hat on Sundays.

I’ve heard the same, Mikey.
…I’ve also heard the first man who wore a tophat caused one of London’s biggest riots (though I’m pretty sure I heard that from Adam Kroshus so I’m not sure how true it is).
I think this claim of mine is some drunken mixture of all those stories.

My sister read a book you may be interested in Sean, or a section at least. It focused on how hats were indicative of class rather than purely fashion in the 19th century. That or they indicated trade, bowler meant one profession and fedora another.
Man with no hat is unemployed, poor. Goes in the wrong area and the police are summoned. That’s all I’m saying.

Had it not been for Kennedy, we’d all be wearing hats right now.

There’s a Mexican proverb about a man and his sombrero. It doesn’t translate well to english but it somehow involves donkeys. Also, i’m probably making this up. Also-also, I may or may not be “boracho” right now.
